I was looking for new ideas and techniques for my nails for the week. I paint my nails weekly. Every Sunday is a new style. This week, I found a cool technique, probably most of you all have seen before, using simple household items. I first painted my nails in 3 stripes. vertically. Lime green, hot pink, and purple.
I just did a thin layer and have to let it dry! Give it an hour to dry. I pre-cut thin strips of scotch tape. Once the 3 colors were dry, I placed the tape on my nails in a pattern I wanted. Most turn into a sun ray design. The smaller nails I only added 2 pieces of tape to, but the bigger nails, I added 3 pieces of tape. Press them down to make sure no polish will go underneath.
I painted black on top of everything. Once one nail is painted black, take of the tape starting with the last piece first. If you try all of them at the same time, it could ruin the design. I let the black dry and put a clear top coat. Its a cool style.
I wish I would have blended the colors, instead of having a definite line to where each color begins and ends. But its all trial and error. I'm still trying to get over my first try of the water color technique.
